Defender Arcade for Atari 2600, Atari 2600+ and Atari 7800+

Defender Arcade for the Atari 2600 is a popular homebrew hack of Atari's official Stargate port, created by programmer Bob DeCrescenzo (PacManPlus) to make the 2600 experience much closer to the original arcade game

Base Game: It reworks the code from Stargate—which was technically superior to Atari's original, heavily flickering Defender port—into a true Defender style experience.

Enemy Tweaks: Removes Stargate-specific enemies like Firebombers (turning them into Bombers), Inviso, and Phred/Big Red (replacing them with Baiters).

Gameplay Adjustments: Removes bonus stages and re-adjusts the scoring system for Pods and falling humanoids.

Visuals: Features cleaner graphics and green landers that resemble the arcade layout much more closely.
